Purely Patricia

Purely Patricia
A documentary short film directed by Jasper Soloff

Purely Patricia is an intimate short documentary following New York style icon Patricia Fox, a woman who treats every day as an occasion to dress up. Known for her exuberant fashion and joyful presence, Patricia embodies a life lived in color and self-expression. But beneath the twirls and textures lies a quieter reckoning with time.

As her best friend Barbara begins to lose her memory to Alzheimer’s disease, Patricia confronts the fragility of aging, friendship, and legacy. The film explores what it means to remain youthful in spirit while facing mortality — from deciding what will become of a lifetime of treasured belongings to navigating the loneliness that can accompany growing older.
Tender and humorous, Purely Patricia is a portrait of resilience and self-invention, asking how we hold onto joy when time insists on moving forward. There is something radical in her refusal to fade quietly into the background. In a culture that often renders older women invisible, Patricia insists on visibility.
